Catherine OFlynn shortlisted for Guardian First Book Prize
16/11/2007
What Was Lost by Catherine OFlynn has been shortlisted as one of five debuts to win the Guardian First Book Prize. What Was Lost was one of four debut novels to feature on this year's Man Booker longlist, and there was widespread surprise when O'Flynn's novel failed to make it through to the shortlist stage. The Guardian First Book Prize is unique among prizes in being open to writing across all genres and judged by both a celebrity panel and members of the public who participate through reading groups run by Waterstone's stores. The prize is announced on December 5.
